THEME SONG:
- Opening - "Minor Threat" by Minor Threat
- Closing - “Isn’t It Glorious” by Lipstick Homicide
TAGLINE/ELEVATOR PITCH: Four Iowa punk friends in their early 20s agree to see 100 shows that year,. while also dealing with the ins and outs of their own personal lives and the wild world of 1984.
PREMISE: A year in the life of four Midwestern punks in 1984. Maybe a 77/78 prequel? Have to get through this thing first!
GUIDING POINTS:
- About the fans and scene, not the musicians.
- Not a "pure punk" book, but rather "punk centric". Revolves around some punks and the punk scene, but also features plenty of non-punk stuff and other "scenes".
- Has more minorities than you would in real life. I don't care. I want to deal with punk and it's relationship with minorities.
- I love punk rock and think it's awesome. And I want to deal with that awesomeness. But I also want to deal with the bad parts and negative aspects too. So I will also deal with drug and alcohol issues, violence, and the ridicule, trouble, and intolerance towards non-punks and the "non-punk".
